USTVNow Plus Installation Guide

1. U.S. TV Now requires creating an account on their website. The account is free, but you will need to do it in order to access it. Go to their sign up page to create an account. The initial account gives you all access, but will eventually limit you to only 7 channels. The full 29 channel access is available with a subscription fee.

2. Once your account is created, go to your Kodi home screen.

3. Go to “Videos” from your main screen.

4. Select “Add-ons”.
5. Select “Get More”.

6. Scroll down the list until you find “USTV Now”.

7. After selecting “USTV Now”, click “Install”.
8. Once you receive the “Add-on enabled” message on the bottom right, you can locate the add-on from your “Videos” menu on the home screen.

9. If you have already created your account, it will ask you to sign up from Kodi.

A Word On Virtual Private Networks

Depending on where you are watching USTVNow, you may or may not need to run through a Virtual Private Network to access the channels. International users may run into geo-restriction issues due to a requirement that users of USTVNow be U.S residents. We suggest using to help keep your Kodi experience anonymous, and to jump through any web blocking or streaming filters that exist for some ISPs.

USTVNow: Benefits and Limitations

USTVNow is a perfect replacement for those who simply don’t want to go through a traditional cable service. However, this is also where the limitations of this add-on come into focus. To even watch the free channels, you have to make an account. This might be a turn-off for anyone who hates the idea of making an account just to stream television.

Thankfully, making an account is easy, and you can use a throwaway email account to do so. Once you’ve made your account, you will be able to log on to the service through the add-on. If you have not made an account, you can still install the add-on, but you’ll see an error message pop up when you try to start up the Live TV stream.

The next limitation for USTVNow is the pay wall. While there is a free account, you are limited to a very small number network channels.

ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC, PBS and My9 are the only channels available with the free version. You can stream these in HD for the first 45 days. Afterward, they are limited to standard view. Upgrading to a paid account can be somewhat expensive. If you want the full channel line-up (over 200 channels), you’ll need to set aside $29.99 a month. If you want a DVR option, that will cost $39.99 a month. If you want the best of the best, you’re looking at $99. For that, you’ll get movie channels like HBO and Showtime, 200 channels, HD streaming and DVR.

Needless to say, this is a fairly costly option. However, USTVNow is possibly the only option with this many channels, while also being completely legal. Despite some arguments that it violates the same laws that the Supreme Court ruled on against Aereo some years back, this is not true. USTVNow has contracts with the major networks, whereas Aereo did not. This is also why it costs so much.

Ultimately, USTVNow is a good option if all you’re looking for are the 7 basic channels that they offer. If you want more, and you’re willing to pay to have it, it’s a good option for you as well. However, if you’re hoping for cost savings, USTVNow is not going to be your go-to option. It has a lot to offer, but for a very high asking price.
